I am a 38-year old father, WordPress developer, musician and social misfit who has bipolar disorder. I have lived with the illness for 19 years and it has gotten less difficult for me to *stay stable* the majority of the time.

I’m blessed with a wonderful family including two singular daughters, my parents, two sisters, and countless supportive relatives.

Maybe the biggest message I want to get across on this site is Don’t Ever Give Up! even when everything is black and you’re curled up in bed for weeks.

There IS hope and a promise for a new life for everyone who suffers from bipolar disorder or depression.

I am living proof that severe Bipolar I Disorder can be successfully treated with a good psychiatrist (or pdoc), the right meds, a daily schedule, a good night’s sleep and so much more (keep reading the blog!).

I wish you the best if you or a loved one is fighting a mental illness. I am here to be a beacon in the darkness and shed light on ways to make your “crazy” more productive and less stressful.

Please feel free to subscribe to our blog by email or an RSS feed from the top right of our home page.

Any ongoing journey with mental illness is going to require some assistance. I want you to know you are not alone in how you feel. I have definitely run the gamut of emotions during my depressive and manic episodes so I can relate. Please feel free to email me directly any time at dpk (at) sadblogger (dot) com. :)
